TP-222A Flame Rod Wire

The TP-222A is a flame rod sensing wire for Re-Verber-Ray gas-fired tube heaters, manufactured by Detroit Radiant Products Co. The wire completes the electrical circuit between the burner's flame rod electrode and the ignition control module. When the burner fires, the flame establishes an ionic current path through the rod; the wire conducts that small rectified current to the control board, which reads it as proof of flame. A broken, corroded, or shorted wire causes the control to lock out on a flame-failure fault even when the burner is lit. Replacing the wire restores that signal path.

It is the listed replacement for alternate part number 1611-51, the earlier Detroit Radiant catalog number for the same wire.
