Product Overview
The Re-Verber-Ray TP-50A is a 120V silicone carbide Glo-Bar hot surface igniter for Re-Verber-Ray gas tube heaters. The Glo-Bar heats to incandescence when the heater's control calls for ignition, providing the surface temperature needed to light the burner without a standing pilot or spark electrode. It runs on the heater's 120V supply voltage directly, with no separate low-voltage transformer required.
It is a direct replacement for the earlier TP-50, fitting every Re-Verber-Ray tube heater except the SV, DRV, HLV, DES, DES3, DET, and DET3 series. This includes the CL, CX, DX, DX2, DX3, HL, HL2, HL3, DST, DSRL, DSRS, LD, LS, MP, and XTS tube heater families, along with the DTH(S) and DBS burner-control-box models. See Fitment below for the full model list.
It ships as the complete igniter assembly with its mounting spring clip in place, ready to snap into the igniter box on tube-mounted models or into the burner control box on DTH(S) and DBS models.
Replacing the Glo-Bar is straightforward on tube-mounted heaters: disconnect electrical supply, remove the igniter box cover, unplug the old igniter from the wiring harness, and unclip it by grasping the spring clip loop and pulling back then down before installing the new TP-50A in reverse. DTH(S) and DBS models route through the burner control box instead and follow a different removal sequence. Always shut off gas and disconnect electrical power before servicing, and have a qualified technician verify burner operation after the swap. Full step-by-step instructions with photos are in the installation sheet.
