The Re-Verber-Ray ERK-HE is a Harsh Environment External Relay Kit for wet or corrosive environments, built around a NEMA 6P rated enclosure that mounts on or near the heater (near the heater on stainless steel or Series 2 units). It lets a single thermostat control multiple heaters: each ERK-HE isolates one heater's 24V control circuit from the shared thermostat wiring, so one control device can stage several units without cross-loading the transformer or thermostat contacts. One ERK-HE is required per heater.
Fits Re-Verber-Ray LS3, LD3, DX3L, HL2, and HL3 tube heaters. See the Fitment panel below for the full model list, including the DSR-series patio heaters noted on distributor documentation. For standard, non-wet locations, use the standard ERK instead.
Ships complete: one relay kit enclosure, three fork terminals, three spade terminals, six wire nuts, and one #8 x 1/2 inch black sheet metal screw.
Replacing this part: shut off gas and disconnect power to the heater before opening any wiring compartment. Have a qualified service technician verify operation against the heater's field wiring diagram after installation. Improper installation, adjustment, service, or maintenance can cause property damage, injury, or death.
