Q309A-1970 Pilot Flame Detector Thermocouple

The Q309A-1970 is a pilot flame detector thermocouple for Re-Verber-Ray high-intensity heaters. It generates a small millivolt signal when heated by the pilot burner flame; that signal holds the gas valve thermocouple seat open, allowing main gas flow to the burner. If the pilot extinguishes, the thermocouple cools, the millivolt output drops, and the valve closes automatically, stopping gas flow to prevent an uncontrolled release.
