The Re-Verber-Ray 4-DSK is a complete 4-inch sidewall vent kit for a single low intensity tube heater, also listed as 2C448. It routes flue gas from the heater's B-to-C adapter through the wall thimble and double-wall B-vent to a capped sidewall termination, letting the heater vent horizontally through an exterior wall instead of up through the roof. Maximum vent run is 20 ft. (6 m), and the pipe must pitch down 1/4 in. per foot toward the outlet so moisture drains outward instead of back into the heater.
The 4-DSK is called out as required for single sidewall venting on the CL3, CX3, DSRF, DXSB, DXSS, HLSB, HLSS, and SV series, with a 200 MBH exclusion noted on the DXSB, DXSS, HLSB, and HLSS submittals. The kit ships complete with everything needed for the run:
- 4-inch sidewall vent cap (SWD-4)
- 18-inch double-wall B-vent section (BVP-4)
- Wall thimble (WT-4)
- 4-inch B-to-C adapter (DHC-4)
- Single-wall vent pipe
- RTV-106 high-temperature sealant
Fully assembled, the kit measures 29 inches. The single-wall vent pipe material needed to complete the run to the heater is included.
Replacing this part: swap in a 4-DSK any time an existing sidewall vent cap, B-vent section, thimble, adapter, or sealant needs replacing, matching each component against the parts list on the installation sheet. Before opening any venting connection, shut off the gas supply and disconnect power to the heater. Have a qualified technician confirm a properly sealed, correctly pitched vent path against the installation instructions once the work is done: insufficient ventilation or an improperly sealed vent can release gas into the building and cause carbon monoxide poisoning, fire, explosion, injury, or death.
