Product Overview
The Re-Verber-Ray RTVP-4 is a 4 in. rooftop vent package that vents a low intensity tube heater straight up through the roof instead of out a sidewall. It is also listed under alternate part number 24KT38. The vent cap and drafthood connector terminate the flue above the roofline while the adjustable flashing and storm collar seal the roof penetration against weather. The firestop spacer maintains required clearance to combustible roof material, and the vent tee, used in place of the 90 degree elbow when a condensate trap is wanted, gives the double-wall B-vent run a clean-out point.
It fits most Re-Verber-Ray low intensity tube heaters, with 4 in. vent pipe specified for the DES3, DET3, DX2, DX3, DX3L, HL2, HL3, REV, and MP3 series. It is not for use with the LS, LD, LS3, LD3, or DBS series. See Fitment below for the full list.
The kit ships complete: a 4 in. rooftop vent cap (RVC-4), drafthood connector (DHC-4), rooftop firestop spacer (FS-4), adjustable rooftop flashing (ARF-4), storm collar (SC-4), 90 degree vent elbow (VE-4), a 4 in. vent tee with clean-out (VT-4), and high-temperature sealant (RTV-106). B-vent or C-vent pipe and any single-wall connector pipe are ordered separately.
Replacing this part: shut off the gas supply and disconnect power to the heater before disturbing the vent run, then reinstall per the installation sheet. Maintain 1 in. clearance to combustible material where B-vent is used. If the roof pitch exceeds 9:12, consult the NFPA ANSI Z223.1 gas vent termination criteria before terminating the vent. A qualified technician should confirm proper operation before the heater is returned to service. See the RTVP-4 installation sheet for the full procedure.
