TP-841A Two-Stage Propane Gas Valve Assembly

The TP-841A is a 24V two-stage propane gas valve assembly from Re-Verber-Ray. It is the propane counterpart to the TP-840A, which covers the natural gas version of the same assembly; order by fuel type, not interchangeably. Re-Verber-Ray also lists this assembly under Alt Part # 36J54-226; treat that number as Re-Verber-Ray's own cross-reference for the assembly rather than a third-party OEM valve number, and confirm it against the unit's data plate or parts chart before ordering, since gas trains vary by fuel type and manifold length across similar-looking models. This is the gas train that meters and stages propane to the burner: it opens on a call for heat, runs low fire on the first stage, then steps to high fire on the second stage per the control board and thermostat signal, using the HI, M and C terminal wiring shown on the install sheet.

It fits the HL2, LD, RVA2 and AG2 propane tube heater families, with additional listings on DET, DSRF, DSRL, DSRS and CL series; see Fitment below for the full breakdown and sourcing notes. It is built to replace a faulty factory-original valve train on these units.

It is sold as the full 10" manifold gas train, including the pipe nipples, not a bare valve body, and ships ready to bolt to the control box in place of the faulty factory-original valve.

Disconnect the joined red/black wires, the indicator-light black wire and circuit-board grey wire, and the circuit-board green wire from the old valve, then reconnect them to the HI, M and C terminals on the new TP-841A per the wiring diagram on the install sheet. Shut off the gas supply and disconnect electrical power to the heater before starting, verify every step against the installation sheet, and have a qualified gas service technician confirm proper operation and check all gas connections for leaks before restoring service.
