VR4205M-1357 Propane Gas Valve and Union

The Re-Verber-Ray VR4205M-1357 is an 11.0 in. combination propane gas valve and brass union assembly, set at 10.0 in. It controls propane flow to the burner and wires directly into the heater's ignition control circuit, using terminals HV, S, N, G, and TH per the installation sheet's wiring diagram. On DR Series PFS-2 [120V] units it pairs with the MARK 10X-117 ignition module (used 1985 through 05/97) or the later MARK 10DX-117 (03/97 to present). The brass union lets a technician break the gas connection at the valve with two wrenches, without disturbing the rest of the supply piping.

It fits the DR Series PFS-2 [120V] and American 450P 120V propane heaters; see Fitment below for the full list. The VR4205M-1357 is a direct replacement for the earlier VR4205M-1316 valve used on the same heaters. The VR4205M-1357 is a direct substitute for the earlier VR4205M-1316 on PFS-2 [120V] units. Before replacing the valve: shut off (turn off) the electrical circuit to the heater, close (turn off) the gas supply, and disconnect the wires from the circuit board. Remove the old valve and install the new one using two wrenches on the union fitting so the gas line isn't twisted. Reconnect the wires per the wiring diagram, restore gas supply, then restore power, and have a qualified gas technician confirm proper operation before returning the heater to service.
