Product Overview
The DSCS Series is Re-Verber-Ray's Designer Series high-intensity patio heater, a single-stage, gas-fired infrared unit designed to mount overhead and stay out of the way of a patio, dining area, or work space.
Input is rated at 31,000 or 34,000 BTU depending on model. The 31 MBH models run on natural gas or propane, while the 34 MBH models are natural-gas only. The 31 MBH model covers up to an 8' x 8' area and the 34 MBH model up to 9' x 9', so model selection should follow the footprint that needs heating. Controls are 24VAC single-stage with direct spark ignition and potted, water-resistant 24V circuitry.
The unit is available in the two BTU/coverage configurations described above, and ships in either black powder-coated aluminized steel or brushed 430 stainless steel, with a decorative stainless eggcrate windscreen grille over the burner. An optional PH-BKT mounting bracket is available, adding preset mounting angles and height adjustment; shipping weight runs about 59 lbs standard, or 65 lbs with the PH-BKT bracket installed.
Typical mounting height runs 8' to 13' depending on model, and the heater tilts 0° to 30° from horizontal. This is an unvented, outdoor-only heater and requires a field-supplied 24VAC Class 2 transformer sized to the number of heaters on the circuit; installation should follow the DSCS Series submittal data and local gas code. It is not for indoor use, sleeping quarters, or attached garages. Re-Verber-Ray backs the ceramic burner for 5 years and all other components for 1 year; full electrical, mounting, and gas pressure requirements are detailed in the DSCS Series submittal data sheet.
