The Re-Verber-Ray TP-60D is a normally closed (N.C.) exhaust pressure switch built for Detroit Radiant tube heaters, factory set at .80 in. w.c. It is also sold under Re-Verber-Ray part numbers FS6628-1173 and 3790532, with FS6628-1172 calibrated to the same set point as a compatible switch. The switch monitors exhaust pressure at the fan outlet: the aluminum pick-up tube points into the bottom of the fan outlet, oriented toward the squirrel cage, while the vinyl sensing tube carries that pressure signal back to the switch body. When the fan fails to develop adequate exhaust draft, the normally closed contact opens and interrupts the ignition circuit, shutting the heater down before it can fire without proper draft.
Fits the 125,000-150,000 BTU/H dual-switch DTH and DTHS(-3) family; see Fitment below for the full model list. The TP-60D cross-references to OEM number NS2-1239-00, the pressure switch it is built to replace. The manufacturer's technical sheet for this part does not publish electrical contact ratings for the OEM device; confirm ratings against the original switch before relying on them.
It ships complete with a vinyl sensing tube, an aluminum pick-up tube, and an insect-resistant brass barb, ready to mount to the center divide panel.
Replacing this part: shut off the gas supply and disconnect electrical power to the heater before removing the faulty switch, connect the aluminum pick-up tube to the positive (+) terminal and the vinyl tube to the negative (-) barb, and route the vinyl tube with a smooth radius bend, free of kinks or obstructions.
