Product Overview
The TP-64 Radiant Sensor is a normally closed (N.C.) bi-metal thermal switch built for Re-Verber-Ray DTH, DTHS, and DTHS2 gas-fired tube heaters. The radiant sensor is calibrated to open when the Glo-Bar has attained ignition temperature. After the burner has ignited, the flame causes the radiant sensor to remain open. When the burner flame terminates, the radiant sensor contacts close approximately 35 seconds later, resetting the circuit for normal operation.
Fits the Re-Verber-Ray DTH, DTHS, and DTHS2 tube heater families. This part is also listed under Detroit Radiant Part # 10RS-43821 and Alt Part # 1595081; use these numbers alongside the TP-64 designation to confirm an exact match against the heater's parts chart or an existing sensor before ordering. Two mounting slot sizes have shipped across production: an early 1/4″ x 1″ slot used through 1986, and the current 5/8″ x 1 1/4″ slot, so match the slot on the existing sensor before ordering. See Fitment below for the full list and the slot-size note by production date.
Ships as the sensor switch only, with no set point to adjust in the field.
Replacing this part: match the mounting slot size and confirm against the TP-64 / 10RS-43821 / 1595081 numbers above before swapping. This is a gas-path safety component: shut off the gas supply and disconnect power before removing the old sensor, verify the replacement against the original part before reassembly, and have a qualified technician confirm proper operation before returning the heater to service.
